--The Plot is optional. You don't have to follow or even read it.--
:1: ACTIVITY- Anyone who joins and does not post within 48 hours will be deleted. Anyone who goes inactive for a week or more will also be deleted. Any characters of those who join but go inactive for a week will be moved to the +Important+ board, where someone else can "adopt" that character.
:2: Maximum three characters per account. You can have as many accounts a you want, but keep them all active. (EXCEPTION: If two of your characters are twins, and they're on the same pic, then you can have four characters on one account.) Your display name must be the first names of your characters.
:3: When joining, please have only one profile per thread, with the exception of identical twins. And ONLY identical twins.
:4: This is New York City, people: Things like swearing, drugs, alcohol, sex, and the like are going to turn up. If you can't handle it, go away.
:5: If your character and another person's character are gunna do it, put a warning in the thread title.
:6: POST SIZE- Posts must be a good paragraph long, about six lines or so. This does not include speech.
:7: When RPing, separate Actions from Speech by puting " and " around the speech.
:8: There will be literacy! End of discussion.
:9: You cannot have two characters with the same job.
:10: All characters twenty and up must have an occupation.
:11: Natural disasters will be decided by the admin. Time of day, and minor weather situations (like raining, or wind) can be decided by the individual character. Be sure to note the season, though.
:12: Do not request a special staff position. I will ask you if you want one when and if I deem necessary. >_<
:13: In the Character Sheet, all fields are REQUIRED, unless otherwise noted. Fill out all fields to the fullest extent. But for the residence description, don't make it too long, but make sure it is a decent size.
:14: Characters can only be in one place at a time. If your character is Bob, and you want him to be at the Harbor, then he has to stay there until a suitable exit is made.
:15: You may use famous people in your picture, but you can't have their name as your character name. Especially not combining the two. Have a little creativity, people!
:16: Again with the creativity--not every single person in the world is depressed and cuts and wants to die. Nor is everyone perfect. Anyone caught trying to pass off a Mary Sue/Gary Lou character will be immediately deleted. Because I said so.
:18: We are allowed to exclude rule #17.
:19: Be sensible when you decide what job to choose for what character. If your character's character pic is of Hilary Duff, then I seriously doubt that character would make a great Firefighter. And someone who is an alcoholic, does Acid, and loves to beat up nerds would never be a good doctor.
:20: If there is already an unreplied to post in a board, don't make your own--reply to that one. (Unless it was made, like, a month ago, and the person never bumped it.) Also, when making a post, be sure that the other person has something to go off of. Think about how or if you could reply to a post before you post it.
:21: And finally, the catch-all rule. If any staff member tells you that something you're doing, or have been doing, is wrong, even if it's not alreayd in the rules, listen to them. The situation will then be evaluated, and if I deem necessary, it will be added to the rules.
