There was a popular plastic surgery center called the Icove Center, run by Wilfred B. Icove, and his son, Wilfred B. Icove, Jr. Icove's wife had died during the Urban Wars, when a bomb hit the school she was teaching in, in the country of Sudan. Icove, Jr., by now, had a wife and two children, a boy and a girl, who were doted on by their grandfather. But..there was something else going on. What, you ask? The Icoves, along with the former headmistress of the Brookhollow Academy, had a very sinister, very illegal, operation going on. They were cloning--yes, cloning--women, altering the DNA..they were trying to make "perfect" women. One product of this cloning operation was Avril Icove, Icove Jr.'s wife. But when Icove (Sr.) was murdered, and then soon after, Jr., the police got involved--a smart, young detective named Eve and her trainee, Peabody. Eve knew somethnig was up from the beginning--the Icoves, both of them, had records that were two spotless, not so much as a parking ticket. After more searching, discoveries, and searches than anyone cares to remember, Eve and peabody finally learned everything there was to know about the covert operation. After all was said and done, the thousands of clones, unknown to the world, were humanely terminated. The ones who were already thriving in the world were permitted to live, provided they never spoke of being clones, and never went near the Brookhollow Academy. Now, two and a half decades later, everything about the Icoves has been forgotten--most people who go into the Icove Center assume it's just some old-agey name someone made up to make the Center more attractive. But..what happened to everyone else involved? Just a couple days after the closing of the Icove case, Eve found herself in the middle of a cross-fire and was killed in the line of duty. Her husband, Roarke, who owned Roarke Enterprises, self-terminated weeks afterward, saying that he couldn't go on without her. About a month and a half after Roarke's death, Mavis--another cop, who was fairly close to Eve--gave birth to a baby boy, whom she and her husband named Roarke. Three years later Peabody, and her boyfriend McNab, got married, and not too long after had a baby girl, whom they named Eve. None of the other cops involved spoke of the past ever again.
...But..what, now? Icove (Sr.) is back?! The man, not to be out done by death, had had some of his DNA preserved shortly before his death, leaving instructions with his secret Domestic to activate it in the event of his death, or shortly thereafter. And the Domestic obeyed. Now Icove spends most of his time in his Secret Center, plotting his comeback, doing more reasearch, cloning...When he does surface, nobody recognizes him. Mainly because everything involving him was so long ago, but also because he'd altered himself, like he had so many clones, to be perfect--not only physically, but mentally, and academically as well. Not even anybody who was involved with the Icove case can recognize him now. As hard as it was to figure him out last time, who knows what he could be about to unleash?
The Urban Wars were the year 2045's equivalent of the Gulf War. Only instead of being in Iraq, it was in Australia. Really not much to say about the battles that took place, except that they were very violent, and the US lost many troops.
